Rooted in Purpose

The partnership between Landau and Rotlevy was grounded in values and vision.

Their journey was rooted in practical Zionism, initiative, and a belief in steady, long-term progress. In 1992, they formed a natural alliance—acquiring control of Bank Igud (Union Bank) and founding Ratio Oil Exploration Partnership. This laid the groundwork for a bold energy venture that helped reshape Israel’s economic future. Since then, they’ve built impactful initiatives grounded in experience, vision, and a lasting commitment to the country’s future.

Yeshayahu (Shaike) Landau

Born in Ukraine and immigrated to Israel alone at the age of 19 aboard the “Hagana” immigrant ship. After being detained in the Atlit internment camp, he began his life in Israel working in metalwork and small-scale contracting.

By the 1950s, he was already involved in major infrastructure projects, including the establishment of new towns in the south such as Arad and Dimona, and participated in laying the National Water Carrier. Over time, he led complex projects in Israel and abroad, and in the 1980s, along with his partners, he founded a civil engineering company operating in Kenya and Uganda, which became one of the largest on the continent.

He later co-founded Granit HaCarmel Group, under which leading companies operated across Israel’s energy, industrial, and service sectors.

David Rotlevy

Born into a family that had laid down roots in Israel as early as 1924, establishing a small textile workshop in southern Tel Aviv.

Within a few decades—and through a combination of diligence, boldness, and sound business thinking—the family’s initiative grew into a leading enterprise, becoming a cornerstone of the local textile industry, developing manufacturing infrastructure, expanding into international markets, and providing livelihoods for thousands of families.

After the passing of his father, David took over the business at a young age and led it forward through mergers, acquisitions, and strategic expansion, transforming the family venture into a stable and dynamic industrial group. He later broadened the family’s activities beyond textiles—venturing into new areas of entrepreneurship and assets.
